Theft from vehicle incident probed

State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating a theft from vehicle incident.

Troopers said the incident occurred in the parking lot of the Cressona Mall, North Manheim Township, outside the Family Dollar Store.

Leon Schappel, 20, of Owigsburg, and Brianna Schaeffer, 17, of Schuylkill Haven, went into the store about 8:10 p.m. While in the store someone entered their unlocked Dodge Avenger and removed Schaeffer's wallet with had $50 in cash and identifiication cards in it, and Schappel's pocket knife valued at $40. The theft was discovered about 8:30 p.m.
