Palmerton's Ben Andrews and Pleasant Valley's Brian Denaro turned in impressive performances to highlight area golf action on Wednesday.

GOLF

Palmerton-Pen Argyl-Saucon Valley

Palmerton split in its Colonial League tri-golf match with Pen Argyl and Saucon Valley.

The Bombers' Ben Andrews was the medalist on the day, as he finished with a one-under 69. Teammate Ke-Koa Mook was the only other local to shot below a 95. He finished with a 75.

Pleasant Valley got the best of East Stroudsburg South on the links with a 15 1/2-8 1/2 victory in Mountain Valley Conference match-play.

The Bears' Brian Denaro ended the round with a 78 and earned the medalist honors. He had an eagle on the par-5 seventh when he holed out from 110 yards.

Jim Lavender, Colin Cook and Denaro were the three locals to post 3-0 victories.
