Pugh leads way for West

The Panther Valley Little League East-West All-Star game was held recently and the West squad pulled out a 13-6 win, by virtue of their team's heavy hitting.

The victors scored their 13 runs on 14 hits throughout the contest with Kenny Pugh leading the way.

Pugh belted a home run, two doubles and a single and scored twice.

Teammate Anthony Micholik added three singles and scored three runs, while Teague Schmidt had two doubles, a single and scored a run.

Owen Snisky also chipped in with two singles to aid the well-rounded team effort.

For the East All-Stars, who scored six runs on seven hits, Lou Mastroddi had two singles.

Monte Baez, Seth Demkovitz and Damian Mele all had singles and all four of these individuals scored a run in the losing effort.

During the Panther Valley Little League Tournament, Tamaqua Blue was crowned the 11-12 champions after posting a perfect 6-0 record.

Jim Thorpe captured the 9-10 title.
