August 29, 1980 Dennis Hartranft carries 13 times for 97 yards and a pair of touchdowns to help Lehighton open the season with a 35-6 victory over Panther Valley. Hartranft scores on runs of 27 and 17 yards as the Indians rack up 272 yards on the ground. Barry Fisher adds 51 yards and a four-yard tally while Brian Bollinger hits paydirt from two yards out. Lehighton, coached by Jim Wentz, also receives a TD pass from Kevin Hunsicker to Mark Deeble.
