Schuylkill theft incident probed
State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating a theft incident in Schuylkill County.
Troopers said the incident occurred at the residence of Carol Ann Bennett, 42, of 1923 E. Grand Avenue (SR209), in Tower City, Porter Township. Troopers said about 7:15 a.m. the suspect arrived at the residence and told the victim their car had broken down and asked to use her phone.
The suspect followed the victim upstairs to the kitchen area where she was going to retrieve her cell phone. As Bennett turned her back to the suspect they stole a basket of medications and fled the home in an unknown direction.
The medications were valued at about $200.
