Rush-Ryan seniors
The Rush, Ryan and Delano Senior Citizens Inc. met Nov. 22 at the Ryan Township Fire Company with 35 members in attendance.
Vice President Rhoda Purnell conducted the business meeting and offered the invocation.
Reports were presented on behalf of secretary Florina Martin and by treasurer Shirley Becker, who also offered inspirational readings.
Birthday greetings were offered to Ruth Grube, Betty Brobst, Muriel Wehr and Edna Romanick.
The annual Christmas party will be held Dec. 13 at the Ryan Township Fire Company. Christy Joy will be the caterer. Festivities will begin at noon.
The group meets the second and fourth Tuesday of every month at the fire company.
Dog licenses
Schuylkill County treasurer Jackie McGovern reminds residents that 2012 dog licenses are now available.
Dogs three months of age or older must be licensed by law.
Licenses may be obtained at the county courthouse in Pottsville, by mail, online at www.padoglicense.com or at a variety of licensing agents.
Locally, those agents include AAA at 202 E. Broad St.; Tom's Auto and Marine, Greenwood Street and Mountain Avenue; and Koch's Farm Service in the Lewistown Valley.

Adult day care
The Tamaqua Area Adult Day Care Center has a variety of activities planned for December, including a visit from St. Jerome's kindergarten students on Dec. 21.
Other activities planned for the month include: Dec. 7, bingo; Dec. 12, Christmas music with Andrew Roblin; Dec. 14, foot doctor visit; Dec. 15, Rev. James Cavalerro visit; Dec. 16, sing-a-long with Audrey Christ; Dec. 20, baking Christmas cookies; Dec. 23, Salvation Army and Santa visits; Dec. 29, monthly birthday party.
In addition to weekly sing-a-longs and social games, the center provides for hairstyling and manicure service. Both require advance notice.

St. Peter's Union
The Rev. Cheryl Moore will officiate at the 9 a.m. worship service Sunday in St. Peter's Union Church, Mantzville. Sunday school classes will meet at 10:15 a.m.
Also on Sunday, a congregational meeting will be held immediately following the service to nominate/elect new board members, the Confirmation Class will meet at 11:30 a.m. and Daisies, Brownies and Cub Scouts meet at 6 p.m.
Activities for next week will include: Monday, food co-op meets at 9 a.m.; Wednesday, Retirees Christmas party at 10 a.m.; Thursday, prayer group meets at 5 p.m., Girl Scouts meet at 6:30 p.m.
The choirs rehearse on Thursdays. Next week's schedule will include: Cherubs, 6:30 p.m., Junior Choir at 7 p.m., Senior Choir at 7:30 p.m.
St. John UCC
The Rev. Kevin Duffy Guy will officiate at the 9:30 a.m. service this Sunday in St. John United Church of Christ.
The weekly service is broadcast on radio station WLSH, AM1410, at 11:30 a.m. Sundays.
Activities for next week will include: Wednesday, choir rehearsal at 7:30 p.m.
