Six first-time offenders placed in probation program

Six first time offenders in the criminal justice system were placed in Carbon County's Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition (ARD) probation program on Tuesday by Senior Judge Richard W. Webb.

If a person successfully completes all conditions of the program their record is wiped clean. However, if a person fails to complete the program, or is revoked from it, the Commonwealth reserves the right to prosecute them on all pending charges. A person does not admit guilt in entering the program.

All were placed for a year, unless otherwise noted.

Regina Marie Dreher, 30, of Lehighton, was placed on charges of driving under the influence (DUI) and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was arrested on May 8 along SR209 at Bridge St., in Lehighton. A marijuana pipe was found in the vehicle.

She was ordered to pay $450 for the cost of the program, get a drug and alcohol (D&A) evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment, license suspended for 60 days, and she must render three hours of community service per month while in the program.

Marcy Lyn Hunsicker, 40, of Jim Thorpe, was place for two years on a charge of simple assault. She was arrested on Sept. 25 by state police at Lehighton for an incident in Penn Forest Township in which her then husband, Dwayne Hunsicker, is the listed victim.

She was ordered to pay $350 for the cost of the program, attend and complete anger management counseling, have no contact with her husband or Lisa Dart, and make restitution in an amount to be determined.

Dennis McGinley, 23, of Jim Thorpe, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on July 16 along Lehigh Avenue in Jim Thorpe. Given a test, the result was .23BAC.

He was ordered to pay $450, get a D&A evaluation, license suspended for 60 days, and render three hours of community service per month while in the program.

Daniel Paul Kleintop, 38, of Lehighton, was placed on a charge of dischaging a firearm into an occupied structure. He was arrested on May 26 following an incident at 1126 Main Rd., in Franklin Township, with John Pirone the listed victim.

He was ordered to pay $350, and render three hours of community service per month while in the program.

Shaun W. Koren, 30, of Emmaus, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on March 14 along the turnpike in Parryville. Given a test, the result was .16BAC.

He was ordered to pay $450, get a D&A evaluation and license suspended for 60 days.

Roxane Longenbach, 54, of Coplay, was placed on a DUI charge. She was arrested on July 24 by state police along SR248 in Lower Towamensing Township. Given a test, the result was .11BAC.

She was ordered to pay $400, get a D&A evaluation and license suspended for 30 days.

Each person placed must also pay a $50 per month supervision fee while in the program and additional court costs.
