Monroe man jailed on assault counts

A Monore County man was jailed this week on assault counts.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said about 2:31 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 12, officers were dispatched to Leslie Way in Tobyhanna, Coolbaugh Township, for a domestic incident. On scene officers spoke with the victim, not identified by officers, and as a result placed under arrest Charlton Williams, 37, of Tobyhanna.

Williams was charged with simple and aggravated assault, indecent assault, and harassment. He was placed in the county prison in Snydersville, police said.
