Children's party
The Diligent Fire Company will hold its annual Christmas party on Saturday, Dec. 17, beginning at 1 p.m. The event is open to children of the community up to the age of 10.
Olde Tyme Christmas Celebration
An Olde Tyme Christmas celebration will be held on Sunday, Dec. 19, at St. John's Lutheran Church, South Avenue. The celebration will begin at 4 p.m. with recitations and songs by the children of the Sunday School. This will be followed by a covered dish meal. Each family is asked to bring a covered dish or bag of something to share with others. Following the dinner, a Christmas carol sing-along will be held, as well as a birthday cake for Jesus.
Bloodmobile
The American Red Cross Bloodmobile will be stationed at Memorial Hall on Wednesday, Dec. 21, from 1-6 p.m. Donors must be 17 years of age and older.
Meeting changed
The next meeting of the reunion committee for Jim Thorpe High School classes 1955 through 1965, will be held at 6:30, Tuesday, Jan. 10 at the Jim Thorpe Administration Building (old junior high school) on Center Ave. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. This meeting was originally scheduled for Jan. 3.
