Mother charged with stabbing son during argument

Teresa A Gerald, 36, of 222 Cross Country Lane, Camelback Village, Jacons Township, Monroe County, has been arrested by state police at the Fern Ridge barracks with simple assault, stemming from the stabbing of her son during an altercation.

Police said the incident happened at 10:45 p.m. Dec, 16 when she, her son, Zachary Allen Elem, 18, and 37-year-old Talbert Lee Gerald were involved in the argument that turned physical. Police said the woman ended up stabbing her son in the chest with a kitchen knife. Also during the scuffle, Talbert Gerald ended up with his wrist sliced when he attempted to restrain the woman as she attempted to get away.

Both victims were tarnsported to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg for what police said was unknown severity of injuries.

The woman was arraigned and committed to the Monroe County Correctioal Facility.
