Panther Valley and Palmerton both picked up wins in girls basketball tournament consolation games on Tuesday night.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Palmerton-Lehighton

The Lady Bombers downed Lehighton for the second time in as many meetings, as they rolled to a 40-19 win in the consolation game of the Lady Indians Tournament.

Kelsey Hay led the way for the Bombers with 13, while teammate Jade Farquhar added eight.

Tiffany Thompson led the Tribe with seven.

Panthery.-Mahanoy Area

The Lady Panthers outscored the Golden Bears in the first three frames to build an insurmountable lead and hold on for a 51-32 win in the consolation game of the Mahanoy Christmas Tournament.

Trayvonda Rice and Brittany Confer both scored 10 points in the win for the Panthers (4-2).

Tamaqua-Emmaus

The Lady Raiders had a hard time against the Green Hornets, as they dropped a 43-26 decision in the Southern Lehigh Holiday Tournament semifinal.

Emmaus' Sandra Gee led all scorers with 17 points.

Meanwhile, Maria Streisel hit 10 free throws on her way to a team-high 14 points for Tamaqua.

Emmaus also won the JV contest, 34-20.

BOYS BASKETBALL

The Colts had the tough task of hosting North Schuylkill and the Spartans went to work early, earning a 48-31 win.

Jake Damiter led the way for the Spartans with 12 points, while Damon Meyer added 11.

For the Colts, Ryan Karnish led the way with eight.

Marian pulled out the JV win, 45-39, as Luke Stawich scored 15.

Northwestern mounted an impressive comeback to make things really close, before Mahanoy eventually pulled out a 46-43 win in this non-league contest.

Jim Baker scored 11 for the winners, while Neal Goodman added 10.

For NW, Kavon Jenkins scored a game-high 15 and Matt Rivera added 10.
