A Monroe County man was jailed on Sunday, Jan. 30, following an incident in A Pocono Country Place.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said about 12:40 a.m. officers were called to 6658 Country Place Drive for a domestic incident. Upon arrival officers were told by the complainant, who was not identified by police, that Peter Thomas, 31, of Coolbaugh Township, was at the residence when he was not allowed to be there due to an active protection from abuse (PFA) order. Police were also told Thomas broke into the residence and threatened to kill one of the individuals in the home and assaulted the complainant who was the holder of the PFA.

Thomas fled the scene prior to the arrival of police. Officers followed Thomas' tracks through the woods for several hours before finding him hiding under a tree in the snow. He was taken into custody.

Thomas was charged with the PFA violation along with burglary and numerous other charges. He was lodged in the county prison in Snydersville pending arraignment, police said.
