Coaldale man facing charges

Published February 07. 2011 05:00PM

Coaldale police charged a borough man with simple assault and harassment after a domestic disturbance.

Christopher W. Warner, 21, of 324 Ridge Terrace, was charged after officers Joseph David and Scott Cramer were called to the home at 7:33 p.m. Feb. 3 on a report of a fall victim.

Warner told police his girlfriend had fallen and cut the back of her head. David spoke with the victim, Audrey Coady, who said Warner had pushed her down while the two argued.

She said the cut, which was 1.5 to 2 inches long, happened when she was pushed to the floor. Police also noticed smaller cuts on her left wrist, which she said were from Warner holding her down several times.

She stated these explanations several times to both officers, but once Warner was arrested, she stated they did not occur.

Warner told police the two had argued and that he had pushed her down in order to get away from her.
