Retail theft arrests
Pocono Mountain Regional police reported on two retail theft arrests made by officers.
On Friday, Feb. 4, about 8:17 a.m. officers responded to the Wal-mart store in Mt. Pocono for a theft report. Police said Stanley Deltufo Jr., 36, of Canadensis, an employee, was in custody by store security. Police said video surveillance footage allegedly showed that Deltufo was stealing items while he was working.
The investigation showed he took four iPod Touch and other items worth about $2,000. He was taken into custody and transported to police headquarters where he was processed and later arraigned before a district judge. Deltufo was released on bail.
On Feb. 3 about 6:35 p.m. officers were dispatched to the Wal-mart store for an individual being detained for theft. Officers identified the suspect as William P. Gillard, 48, of Philadelphia. Gillard allegedly attempted to steal $125.96 worth of merchandise.
He was issued a citation and released, police said.
