Driver cited after Schuylkill crash

A driver was cited after she was involved in a one-vehicle crash in Schuylkill County. State police at Frackville said the accident occurred about 8:14 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 9, along the Burma Road, in the area of the Mountain Valley Golf Course in Ryan Township.

Troopers said Lissette Fernandez, 19, of Mahanoy City, was driving a 1998 Chevrolet southbound when he lost control after passing another vehicle. Her car went onto the west berm and struck a tree, where it came to rest.

Fernandez and her passenger, Kenneth B. Edwards, 18, also of Mahanoy City, were not injured. The vehicle had to be towed from the scene.

Troopers cited Fernandez for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
