Rear-end type crash probed

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported investigating a rear-end type crash in Schuylkill County that occurred about 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 8.

Troopers said Drai F. Miller, 19, of Pottsville, and Frances M. Emerich, 75, of Orwigsburg, were both southbound on SR61. Troopers said Emerich was in the right lane approaching the off ramp to the Mount Carbon Arch Road. Miller failed to see Emerich moving to the left lane to exit onto the ramp and the front of his 2003 GMC Yukon hit the right rear of Emerich's 2003 Toyota Rav 4.

Emerich and a passenger with Miller, Jashe W. Thompson, 20, of Pottsville, both sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene. Miller was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
