Bombers, Raiders, Bulldogs get girls' wins
Palmerton, Tamaqua and Northern Lehigh all picked up girls basketball wins over the weekend.
The Panther Valley wrestling team also came out on the winning side.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Moravian Academy-Palmerton
Palmerton's Casey Rinfret lit up the scoreboard with a game-high 26 points to help the Lady Bombers roll to a 66-36 win over Moravian Academy.
The senior point guard nailed five treys to lead her squad, while Kelsey Hay's 12 and Gina Farquhar's 11 provided support.
For the Lady Lions, Maddie Steen led the way with 15.
Palmerton also won the JV contest, 44-19.

Tamaqua-Lehighton
The Lady Indians' Jordan Homyak poured in a game-high 34 points in the non-league contest against Tamaqua, but it was the undefeated Lady Raiders' balance that proved to be dominant, as Tamaqua won, 72-53.
With a 22-0 record, the visitors were led by Amy Zehner, who scored 24 points and 10 rebounds, while Cassie Eroh donned 21. Maria Streisel also had a good game with 10 points and six assists in the supporting effort. Stacey Wallace also contributed seven rebounds and three blocks.

The Lady 'Dawgs had a tough time disposing of visiting Wilson, as they eventually pulled out a 56-53 overtime win.
Northern Lehigh was outscored in the final frame, 10-2, causing a tie at the end of regulation. In the extra session, the locals stepped up and prevented the upset-minded Warriors from the win.
Individually for Northern Lehigh, Aimee Oertner had 20 with Christina Bastardi scoring 17.
For Wilson, Alyssa Gibson's four treys led to 14 points, while teammate Jacelin Muschlitz chipped in with 11.
Wilson prevented the sweep of the night, winning the JV contest, 43-23.

BOYS BASKETBALL

The Warriors held off a late Bulldog rally for a 36-33 win that earned them a berth in the Colonial league playoffs this week.
The Bulldogs (15-7, 10-6) had four chances to either tie it or take the lead in the final minute and a half, but could get it done.
Kowan Scott finished with 12 points for the Warriors (16-6, 12-4) and Gerald terry added 11. Jordan Waylen finished with 11 for Northern Lehigh.
The Bulldogs did salvage a win in the JV game, 52-49.
