Completes his first semester at MIT
Christian Ferko of Jim Thorpe has completed his first semester at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Christian is a 2010 graduate of Jim Thorpe Area High School, which he was valedictorian of his class.
Because of the college credits Christian earned during his senior year in high school, MIT has awarded him advanced sophomore standing during the first semester of his freshman year.
Advanced sophomore standing grants Christian more opportunities during his freshman year, one of which is to declare a major subject of study.
He is also able to take additional classes for his second semester.
He has chosen physics as his major.
Chrisian is the son of Gabriel and Laura Ferko of Jim Thorpe.
