DUI arrests reported
State police at Lehighton reported on two driving under the influence (DUI) arrests made by troopers recently.
On Thursday, Feb. 10, about 8:30 p.m. troopers stopped a vehicle along Smale Lane at Kunkletown Road, in Eldred Township, Monroe County, for traffic violations.
The driver was identified as Robert Lloyd Manter, 43, of Albrightsville. He was found to be under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance, troopers said.
He submitted to a blood test.
The DUI charge is pending the test results.
On Saturday, Feb. 12, about 1:20 a.m. troopers stopped a vehicle at Bank and White streets, in Bowmanstown, Carbon County, after observing it being operated in an erratic manner.
The driver was identified as Kenneth James Shafer, 22, of 820 Prinecton Ave., Palmerton.
He was found to be under the influence.
The DUI charge along with careless driving and failure to use a turn signal, are pending, troopers said.
