DUI arrests
State police at Lehighton reported on two driving under the influence (DUI) arrests made by troopers recently.
About 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 15, troopers stopped Donald Frederick Jones, 51, of Palmerton, along Delaware Avenue at State Road in Palmerton for traffic violations. Jones was found to be under the influence and was placed under arrest. He submitted to a blood test. The DUI charge is pending the test results, troopers said.
At 10:44 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 16, troopers stopped John Edward Weiser, 71, of Andreas, along SR209, in the area of SR534, in Polk Township, Monroe County, for motor vehicle code violations. He was found to be under the influence and was placed under arrest. He submitted to a blood test. The DUI charge is pending the test results.
