An organizational meeting will be held on Monday, Feb. 21, at 6 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, North Street, for the upcoming Captive Free event. Volunteers are needed with this event and if you are interested or need more information call Kathy at (570) 325-2282.
Bereavement group
The bereavement support group sponsored by St. Joseph's parish, will meet on Saturday, at 11 a.m. in the rectory of the church. The sessions are open to the public and if you wish more information call the parish office, (570) 325-3731. The weekly sessions will be held until March 5.
Special Story Time
slated for children
On Tuesday, Feb. 22, at 10 a.m. there will be a special Story Time at Dimmick Memorial Library in Jim Thorpe.
Author Lucia Gunzel will read her book "Cranky Pants," a story about how young Matilda Mae, getting up one morning wearing her cranky pants, learns how to deal with her grumpiness and get on with her day. This book, geared toward kids from 4 to 104, has a lesson for all of us.
Story Time is free and open to all and is held at the library at 54 Broadway in downtown Jim Thorpe.
