Monroe driver facing DUI count

A Monroe County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following a traffic stop that occurred along SR940, at Short Lane, in Pocono Pines, about 1:15 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 16.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said officers stopped Kari Kirk, 52, of Pocono Pines, for a traffic violation. She was found to be under the influence and failed field sobriety tests.

In addition to the DUI charge, Kirk will also be charged with driving with a suspended license, police said.
