Teen jailed in shooting incident
On Friday, Feb. 18, Pocono Mountain Regional police was dispatched to the area of Center Ave. in Mt. Pocono for a shooting.
The victim, Kevin Rake, 30, told police that he had stopped at a stop sign on Center Drive to talk to his friend when a resident in a near-by home started yelling at him.
The victim said the resident shot at him and hit him in the foot. A family member transported Rake to Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, where he was treated for the gun shot.
Police investigators learned that Rake was shot with a .22-caliber rifle. The shooter, identified as Kenneth Hart, 17, reportedly fired the rifle from a second-story window of a house next to the intersection where Rake had stopped.
Hart was arrested for aggravated and simple assault, reckless endangering and possessing instruments of a crime. He was arraigned before a district judge and committed to Monroe County prison in Snydersville in lieu of $10,000 bail.
