Good news
Jeff Weiss has recuperated from his accident enough to attend a meeting at the West End Firehouse. However, much healing is ahead of him according to fellow fire company members.
Tucker Irwin, formerly of Brodheadsville, where her husband Tom served as pastor of Zion Lutheran, has been moved from Good Shepherd in Bethlehem to a rehabilitation center in Reading, much closer to their home.
Volunteer meeting
An important meeting for volunteers of the free Sunday Supper at Our Lady Queen of Peace will be held at 7 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 24, in McCawley Hall.
School board
The Pleasant Valley School District Board of Education will meet at 8 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 24, in the district offices on Route 115, Brodheadsville.
Touch of Home
A regular meeting of the Operation: Touch of Home group will be held at 7 p.m., Tuesday, March 1, at the American Legion Post home in Gilbert.

Pleasant Valley School District's Night of Unity is set for Wednesday, March 2 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The snow date is Thursday, March 3.
Fishing fun
Chestnuthill residents can sign up for fly fishing permits for the McMichaels Creek at the township building. For details, call the township offices.
World Day of Prayer
Church Women United of Monroe County will hold its World Day or Prayer service at East Stroudsburg United Methodist Church. This year's event will take place at 1 p.m., Friday, March 14.
After the service UMC women will serve refreshments.
