Tamaqua woman cited for drinking
A Tamaqua woman has been cited after police found her walking in the middle of the roadway on Railroad Street early Saturday morning.
An officer was on patrol at 12:55 a.m. when he saw Kayla Michelle Hoover, 20, of 115 W. Rowe St., walking in the middle of the street. Hoover then allegedly went to the side, peering into the windows of a parked pickup truck. The officers stopped and questioned Hoover, who said she was on her way home.
The officer detected the odor of alcohol on Hoover's breath and asked if she had been drinking. She replied in the affirmative, then tried to resist arrest. She was given a PBT test. The test indicated a .14 blood alcohol content.
Hoover was cited for underage drinking, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.
