Armed robbery in Monroe

State police at Fern Ridge are investigating an armed robbery that occurred last night in Monroe County.

Troopers said the incident occurred at the Turkey Hill store along SR209 in Chestnuthill Township. A person entered the store about 11:45 p.m. and brandished a handgun at the clerk on duty. The robber demanded money from the register, and after getting it, fled the scene on foot.

The robbery was about five-feet, eight-inches tall and was wearing a black hooded jacket, opaque mask and dark gloves.
