DUI arrests reported by PSP

State police at Lehighton reported on two driving under the influence (DUI) arrests made by troopers recently.

On Feb. 18 about 10:35 p.m. troopers stopped a vehicle for several motor vehicle violations along Union Hill Road at Held St., in Franklin Township, Carbon County. The driver was identified as John W. Hawk, 38, of Lehighton. He was found to be under the influence and arrested for DUI, troopers said.

On Feb. 22 about 8:15 p.m. troopers stopped a vehicle for vehicle code violations along SR534 near SR209, in Polk Township, Monroe County. The driver was identified as Steven Spearko, 35, of Kunkletown. He was found to be under the influence and placed under arrest. The DUI charge is pending test results, troopers said.
