Zoning permits

The Schuylkill County Zoning Office issued 11 permits in January and collected $4,115 in fees. The estimated cost of the construction to be undertaken from the permits was placed at $828,704. Obtaining permits were:

Brendt and Jennifer Geiger, East Brunswick Township, new home, $229,404 estimated cost of construction; John and Jamie Miller, North Union Township, manufactured home, $99,900; Colin Abdiroglu, Union Township, home, $200,000; John D. and April R. Laird, Barry Township, log home,. $200,000; Kevin R. and Rachel Bicher, Washington Township, dock area and addition to existing warehouse, $35,000; Paul E. Haldeman, Pine Grove, garage, $15,000; Reading Anthracite Company, Cass Township, garage, $7,500; James H. and Karen L. Sonnon, Cass Township, garage, $12,500; Elwood and Darlene J. Morgan, Washington Township, garage, $9,000; Henry Laird, Tower City, roof for deck, $2,300 and Gary Anderson and Amy Faye, Washington Township, hay and equipment storage shed, $18,000.

Divorces granted

Jamie L. Murphy was granted a divorce from Jeffrey L. Murphy, both of Cressona. They were married June 11, 1994.

Laura A. Armstrong, Schuylkill Haven, was granted a divorce from Andrew Armstrong, Pine Grove. They were married Oct. 7, 2006.

Catherine T. Parker was granted a divorce from Ronald J. Parker, both of Pottsville. They were married June 24, 1996.

Jesus A. Medinie, Frackville, was granted a divorce from Yeilys A. Medinie, Miami, Fla. They were married Jan. 31, 2006.

Contract breach

SMNRC, L.L., doing business as Hometown Nursing and Rehabilitator Center, filed suit against Corrinne Miller, 149 Lafayette Ave., Tamaqua R.D., and Norman Sterling, 306 South Ave., Jim Thorpe, alleging a breach of contract and seek damages in amount of $19,687.88.

The suit alleges on March 17, 2010, Miller, acting pursuant to a power of attorney, entered into an admission agreement with the Hometown Center and claim as of this date Miller, and or Sterling, are liable for the bill.

File for divorce

JoAnn Hollywood, 115 S. Centre St., Pottsville, filed suit for divorce from Patrick J. Hollywood, 12 N. Valley St., New Philadelphia. They were married Dec. 9, 1978.

Lindsey M. Leatherman, 137 W. High St., Coaldale, filed suit for divorce from Dustin E. Leatherman, 1411 Drumlin St., Fruita, Colo. They were married May 6, 2006.

Treasurer's report

County Treasurer Jacqueline McGovern reported the expenditures for January.

The beginning balance of all accounts was $43,458,422.40; deposits, $10,259,824.68; disbursements, $11,658,366.43 and ending balance $42,059,880.65. Taxes collected, real estate $1,142,543.90; funded debt, $56,513.56 and per capita, $21,917.80. Office revenues, sale of licenses, dog, $4,129.40; fish, $19; hunting, $49; bingo, $400 and small game of chance, $2,100. Revenues received, from magisterial district justices, $48,634.05; 9-1-1- tariff on land phones, $70, 673.19; hotel tax, $14,121.42. and coal land royalties, $8,576.13.

Revoke from ARD

Candace Louise Bylinski, 26, of 505 Rolling Mill Ave., Tamaqua, was removed from participating in the Accelerated Rehabilative Disposition (ARD) probation program for first time offenders. She now faces trial on charges of forgery filed by Tamaqua Cpl. Henry Woods.

Anthony Edmondson, 20, Girardville, was removed by President Judge William Baldwin from the ARD program. He was charged by Trooper James Cuttitta with burglary of the Girard Beverage warehouse in Girardville and now must stand trial on the charges.

Tomara Randi Scott, 19, Schuylkill Haven, was removed from the ARD program and will be tried on charges of terroristic threats filed by Schuylkill Haven Patrolman David George.

Revoke parole

Phillip James Gibble, 41, Pottsville, had his parole revoked by Judge Baldwin and was recommitted to the county prison to serve the balance of his sentence and the court will not entertain any application for parole for another nine months. Also, his 358 days of liberty were taken away and added to his maximum sentence. Gibble had pleaded guilty to retail theft and after serving five months in prison was released on parole.

Seek back taxes

Tamaqua Area School District filed suit against Paulette B. Gigli, of 492 Blue Mountain Road, New Ringgold, seeking to place a lien on her property for failure to pay $925.47 owed in school tax.

Credit card debt

Barclays Bank Delaware, Wilmington, Del., filed suit against Diane M. Konstas, 325 W. Rowe St., Tamaqua, alleging she owes a balance of $8,645.93 on her credit card.

Seek foreclosure

Citimortgage Inc., Frederick, Md., filed suit against Eric Urban, 118 W. High St., Coaldale, claiming he owes $62,564.14 which is collectable on his mortage and seeks foreclosure if payments are not made.

Chase Home Finance, LLC, filed suit against Trek C. and Vanessa R. Golis, 147 E. Howard Ave., Coaldale, alleging $85,608.91 remain on the mortgage on their property and seek foreclosure if payments not made.
