Schuylkill driver facing charges

A Schuylkill County driver is facing charges after he left the scene of an accident.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Joseph Noraka, 25, of Barnesville, was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Equinox eastbound on SR443 (Suedberg Road), in Pine Grove, about 4:45 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 1, when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle traveled off the road and onto the south berm. The vehicle traveled along the berm for about 160 feet, going over some small brush before going down a slight embankment and becoming stuck.

Noraka exited the vehicle and fled the scene without contacting police. He will be charged, troopers said.
