One hurt when car hits pole on SR54

Rush Township police report a single vehicle accident with injury on SR54, Pine Creek Drive, on Thursday, Jan. 6 at 1:49 a.m.

Police said Jacqueline Agosti, 46, of Tamaqua, was operating a 2001 Hyundai traveling east and while attempting to light a cigarette, became distracted, causing her vehicle to leave the roadway and travel up an embankment, where it struck a utility pole.

Agosti was transported by Ryan Township ambulance to St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital, Coaldale.
