Morality is an objective matter
Dear Editor:
I wanted to thank the Times News for publishing Star Parker's commentary on the recent repeal of the military's "Don't Ask Don't Tell" policy.
Mrs. Parker's commentary was a welcomed opposing viewpoint from the mass media's portrayal of the matter.
As Mrs. Parker points out, morality is not a subjective matter based on opinion. If such a philosophy were to be followed to its logical conclusion, then all behaviors would need to be deemed by society as good.
Instead, as Mrs. Parker suggests, morality is an objective matter.
Morality is based on the objective authority of God's word, traditional Judeo Christian values, and the greater societal good.
I commend the TN for publishing the article in a media world which seeks to capitulate to every passing opinion.
