Three injured in Monroe crash
Three persons were injured in a two vehicle crash that occurred about 8:58 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 4, along SR209, west of Weir Lake Road, in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County.
State police at Fern Ridge said James L. Stagnito, 17, of Tatamy, Northampton County, was attempting to enter the road from a private parking lot and failed to yield the right-of-way to southbound traffic.
Troopers said Stagnito's 1996 Chrysler entered the path of a 2001 Chevrolet operated by Melissa A. Gursky, 35, of Kresgeville, who attempted to avoid a collision but could not. The front of the Chevrolet collided with the driver's side of the Chrysler.
Troopers said a passenger wiht Stagnito, Natasha Wolf, 17, of Saylorsburg, sustained a major injury and was taken by West End ambulance to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. Stagnito and Gursky and her passenger, Michael Henning, 36, of Kunkletown, sustained minor injuries. Another passenger with Stagnito, Dennis Paff, 20, of Tatamy, was not injured.
Troopers cited Stagnito's for vehicle entering a roadway.
