Several incidents in Lehighton
The Lehighton police announced the issuance of several citations recently.
Leanne Scott, 36, of White Pine Lane, Lehighton, was cited for allegedly issuing a bad check in the amount of $23.25 to Mallard Market in Lehighton on Nov. 23.
Three individuals were cited for disorderly conduct as a result of a fight on Aug. 30. They are Shana Hricik, 19, of 1203 Mahoning Mountain Road, Geraldine Halada, 20, of 841 Beaver Run Drive, and Cory Schlier, 23, of 1573 Blakeslee Blvd. Drive East, all of Lehighton.
Brandyn Gatens, 19, of 384 Fairview St., Lehighton, was charged with burglary, criminal trespass, tampering with physical evidence, possession or delivery of a small amount of marijuana, restrictions on alcoholic beverages, underage possession of alcoholic beverages, and general lighting requirements as a result of a traffic stop last June 24 in the 100 block of S. First St.
Police said due to circumstances surrounding the investigation, the vehicle Gatens was driving was impounded.
Upon conducting a search of the vehicle, police said it was learned that Gatens illegally entered the impound yard where the vehicle was stored and removed evidence from the vehicle.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled on Jan. 12.
Nicole Bollinger, 22, of 375 Horseshoe Drive, Palmerton, and Dillion Koch, 21, of 337 1/2 Bridge St., Lehighton, were both charged with theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, and criminal conspiracy to commit theft.
The theft occurred at a residence in the 100 block of S. Seventh Street on Feb. 27.
Charges were filed on a 15-year-old Lehighton area male for unlawful distribution of a prescription medicine. Three other juveniles, one 15-year-old female, and two 17-year-old males, faced similar charges. The incident took place on Nov. 16 in the Lehighton Area High School.
A 17-year-old Lehighton male was charged with possessing a weapon on school property on Nov. 30.
A 14-year-old Lansford male was charged with aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person, simple assault, terroristic threats, and possessing a weapon on school property after he allegedly threatened to do bodily harm to another student in the Lehighton Area High School on Nov. 24.
Edwin Mertz, 51, of 131 Mauch Chunk St., Lehighton, was charged with theft by deception after he allegedly ordered food, knowing he did not have the money to pay for the items. The incident took place on Dec. 4 at Diggity Doggs and More in Lehighton. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 12.
