Carbon crash

State police at Lehighton identified the drivers involved in a three-vehicle crash that occurred about 11:25 a.m. on Jan. 4 along SR209 in Towamensing Township, Carbon County, but did not give any details of the accident.

Troopers said Dixie L. Filardi, 54, of Saylorsburg, was operating a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado truck; Edward J. Horgan Jr., 47, of Forest City, Susquehanna County, driving a 2008 Peterbilt 330 truck; and Michael J. Taschler, 57, of Kunkletown, driving a 2000 Dodge Durango, were all involved in the crash.

The report did not give details of the crash but indicated that Filardi sustained a "major injury" and was taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. The other two drivers were not injured, according to the report.
