Troop 109
Boy Scout Troop 109 in Saylorsburg invites boys ages of 10-18 to speak with troop leadership and spend some time with the troop. The Scoutmaster, Robert Facella, was awarded the 2010 Leader of the Year Award, presented by the Pocono District at a Roundtable meeting.
He was nominated by his former troop for his leadership excellence, dedication to the Boy Scouts of America principles, the Boy Scout Oath, and Scout Law.
The troop has numerous adult merit badge counselors and is offering exciting mystery trips, campouts, projects, working with organizations like Operation Touch of Home, which supports local troops deployed overseas.
Members are a community active troop and try to help wherever they can.
The troop's Charter Organization is St. Peter's U.M.C. in Saylorsburg. Meetings are held at St. Peter's (located on old Rt. 115 between Kunkletown Rd. and the Saylorsburg Post Office) Tuesday nights from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

PV School Board
The Pleasant Valley School District Board of Education will meet at 8 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 13, at the District Office in Brodheadsville.
Monroe Seniors
Monroe County Seniors will meet at 9 a.m., Friday, Jan. 14, and again on Wesdnesday, Jan 19, at Zion Lutheran Church in the Fellowship Hall.
Another audition
Individuals interested in singing with the Pleasant Valley Choral Society who are not already members have an opportunity to audition informally this Friday, Jan. 14, at 6:30 p.m., at Zion Lutheran Church in Brodheadsville.
The chorus practices there each Friday, beginning at 7 p.m.

The Pleasant Valley School District will be closed Monday, Jan. 17, in honor of Martin Luther King Day. School offices will be open. A Building and Grounds meeting will be held at 7 p.m.
Diversity Taskforce
Pleasant Valley School District's Diversity Taskforce will meet from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 18.
Prayer Shawl Ministry

Farm Family event
