Monroe driver injured in crash

A Monroe County man was injured early Friday morning, Jan. 14, when his vehicle drove off a roadway in Kidder Township.

State police at Fern Ridge said John A. McCartney, 18, of East Stroudsburg, failed to negotiate a slight right hand curve along Interstate 80 at around 6:53 a.m.

That caused McCartney's 1995 Mitsubishi to drive straight off the roadway and into a line of small trees. The vehicle overturned onto the driver's side.

McCartney was injured in the crash and flown to Geisinger-Wyoming Hospital, Plains Township, for treatment of injuries.
