Monroe ATV rider injured in crash

A Monroe County man has been severely injured after he fell off the ATV he was driving on Wednesday, Jan. 12.

State police at Fern Ridge said Kenneth Maellaro, 29, of Bartonsville, fell off the three-wheels Honda X200 he was riding along Glenbrook Road about 246 feet north of Penn Hills Drive.

The accident caused Maellaro to hit his head on the pavement, causing him to lose consciousness. Maellaro remained on the cold pavement for an unknown period of time before he was found by a passing motorist.

Maellaro was transported by Central Pocono Ambulance to a landing area where he was flown to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.
