Meeting site change
Members and friends of the Western Pocono Lions Club are reminded that the club will meet at Cherry's Family Restaurant in Kresgeville this week. Although the site is changed for this month, the time is still 6:30 p.m. for the social gathering and 7 o'clock for the meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 19.
The speaker will be Cory Bentzoni from the PA Game Commission.
Local man injured
Jeff Weiss, life-long resident of the area and president of the West End Fire Company, was in a snowmobile accident in New York. He has many serious injuries is the report.
Zion Seniors
The monthly meeting of the Zion Seniors will be held Thursday, Jan. 20, beginning at 11 a.m., at Zion Lutheran Church in Brodheadsville. The group is open to those 50 and over. Attendees are reminded to bring a sandwich. Beverages are provided.
150th anniversary
Planning is under way for the 150th anniversary of Zion United Lutheran Church in Brodheadsville. The anniversary committee will meet at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 19.
WE Rotary
The West End Rotary Club meets weekly at 7:30 a.m., at the Western Pocono Community Library in Brodheadsville except every third Thursday of the month, they meet at Ye Olde Saylors Inn at 7 p.m. They will be meeting there Thursday, Jan. 20 at 7 p.m.
Bird feeders
A no-charge program on making pine cone bird feeders will be offered at the Chestnuthill Township Park Building from 9-11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 22.

Winter is topic
Beth Moses of Rosewood Counseling services will present the topic, "Embracing the Winter Season" at 11:15 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 26, at the Chestnuthill Senior Center, now located at Zion Lutheran Church's Fellowship Hall in Brodheadsville.

Library story time
The Western Pocono Community Library has story times several times a week, including Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.; 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Wednesdays, and 1 and 6:30 p.m., on Thursdays, with a story time for children with special needs at 1 p.m. on Fridays.
PV School Board
The next meeting of the Pleasant Valley School District School Board is 8 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 27, at the district office in Brodheadsville.
CWU to meet
Church Women United of Monroe County will hold a business meeting on Friday, Jan. 28, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Stroudsburg, in the church library room. The meeting begins at 1:30 p.m. and all participants are asked to use the back entrance to the 9 North 9th Street building.
