JT girls, Colts clinch D-11 berths
The Jim Thorpe girls and Marian boys basketball teams both locked up District 11 playoff berths with victories on Wednesday night.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Shenandoah-Jim Thorpe
Jim Thorpe clinched its first district playoff berth since 2002 with a 39-11 victory over Shenandoah.
Celeste Robinson scored 13 of her game-high 16 points in the second half to lead the Olympians. Kristin Lawrence chipped in 12 points.
Shenandoah captured the JV game, 40-28.

Mahanoy Area-Lehighton
Mahanoy Area used a big second quarter to defeat Lehighton, 59-47, in a non-league game.
The loss was Lehighton's fourth in a row as it dropped to 2-10 on the season.
Jordyn Homyak tallied a game-high 25 points for the Indians, who held a six-point lead after one quarter.
In the JV game, Lehighton emerged with a 40-32 victory.

Marian punched its tickets to the District 11 playoffs with a 60-46 Schuylkill League victory over Williams Valley.
The win improves the Colts' record to 11-3 overall and 6-1 in league play.
Ryan Gimbi poured in a season-high 26 points, including 10 of Marian's 13 points in the third quarter, to lead the Colts. Chris Barletta tacked on 12 points.
Marian was a 56-37 winner in the JV game behind 12 points from Eric Swankoski.

Jordan Waylen led the Bulldogs with a 22-point performance. Caleb Johnson, Lucas Pierce and Devin Glose added 14, 11 and 10 points respectively.
