Schuylkill driver facing DUI charge
A Schuylkill County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following a one- vehicle crash.
State police at Frackville said about 5 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 23, troopers were called to a non-reportable crash along Interstate 81 in Kline Township. Troopers said Karen Lynn Garcia, 31, of Frackville, was driving a 1991 Toyota Corolla southbound when her vehicle entered the median and got stuck in snow.
Garcia showed signs of intoxication and was placed under arrest. She was taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville, for a blood test. A charge of DUI will be filed against Garcia, troopers said.
