Pleasant Valley boys, girls get wins
Pleasant Valley and Marian picked up boys basketball wins, while Northern Lehigh, Northwestern, Panther Valley and Pleasant Valley all won on the girls side in hoop action on Monday night.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Pleasant Valley-ES North
Nick Stanovick's three-pointer at the end of regulation put Pleasant Valley into an extra session, where they ended up pulling out a big Mountain Valley Conference win over East Stroudsburg North, 66-61.
In the overtime, Stanovick was a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line to help seal the win, as he finished with a game-high 20 points. Helping out the Bear effort were Mike Sharpe with 15 and Selwyn Wright and Eric Wild with 11 apiece.
For ESN (7-8, 2-4), Jamaal Fort and David Rey both led the way with 17 points in the losing effort.
PV improved to 7-7 overall, 3-3 in the MVC with the win.
The locals also pulled out the JV contest with a 72-43 preliminary win, with Marquis Brown pouring in 22 points.

After a tie game at intermission, the Spartans proved to have too much down the stretch to pull out the Schuylkill League Division I game, 51-46 over the Olympians.
North Schuylkil was led in scoring by Brandon McCloskey with a team-high 16 points.
For the Olympians, three players reached double figures in PJ Johnson, with 18, Dean DiBonifazio with 14 and JT Otto with four treys.
In the JV contest, the Spartans prevailed 48-46, despite Alonzo McGill's 14 points.

Marian jumped out to a big early lead and never looked back in rolling to a 63-25 Schuylkill League Division II-III crossover victory over visiting Schuylkill Haven.
Ryan Gimbi netted 10 points and Chris Barletta nine for the Colts (12-4 overall, 7-2 league), who held a 26-6 advantage after one quarter. In all, 12 Marian players hit the scoring column.
Taylor Charles led Schuylkill Haven (4-12, 3-6) with a game-high 15 points.

Blue Mountain-Tamaqua
Blue Mountain erupted for a 22-point fourth quarter to pull away with a 59-45 Schuylkill League Division I victory over Tamaqua.
Matt LaScala hit for eight of his 15 points in the final frame, while the Blue Eagles' Mike Tobash led all scorers with a game-high 17 points. Teammate Kyle O'Brien just hit for double figures with 10 points.
Mike Streisel led a trio of Blue Raiders in doubles figures with a team-high 16 points, while Jake Fegley and Spencer Bennett both netted 10 points.
In the JV game, Blue Mountain came out on top with a 64-26 win over Tamaqua. The Blue Raiders' Tyler Krell ended up with nine points.

The Blue Bombers jumped out to an early lead only to see the Crusaders outscore them by 38 points over the final three periods as they dropped a 89-55 Colonial League contest.
Dillon Huerta and Adam Ambielli led a three-point parade that saw the Crusaders drain 12 from beyond the arc once the night was done.
Ambielli finished with 23 points and Huerta added 20. Palmerton's Jourdan Reinhart had 22 points for the Bombers (6-8, 3-5) and Cody Geist had 10.
