Colts' Richards gives verbal to James Madison

Marian's Dominick Richards, a 6-6, 200-pound senior tight end on Thursday gave a verbal commitment to James Madison University Head Football Coach Mickey Matthews to accept a Division 1scholarship to attend school and play for the Dukes.

Richards will make the scholarship official on Wednesday, Feb. 2, the NCAA's National Letter of Intent Day.

James Madison is a Football Championship Subdivision team (formerly Division I-AA) that plays in the Colonial Athletic Association Football Conference.

Former Marian Fillie Rachel Connely is on a basketball scholarship at James Madison University, where she is a junior.
