Driver cited for DUI after Monroe crash
A driver was cited for driving under the influence (DUI) following a one vehicle crash that occurred about 1:26 a.m. on June 18 along Kuhenbeaker Road near Hypsie Gap Road.
Pocono Mountain Regional police said Adam Kamienski, 27, of Blakeslee, was westbound when he said he swerved to avoid a deer causing him to lose control of his car. The vehicle left the road and struck several trees.
Kamienski was taken to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, for treatment of injuries. Police detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage on Kamienski and a blood test was requested. The test showed Kamienski was impaired, police said.
Kamienski was charged with DUI and related offenses. Damages were severe to the car, police noted.
