Why are taxes so high?

Dear Editor:

I would like to know.

Considering the industry that has moved in this area, Long John Silver, Arbys, Giant, Aldi,Wal-Mart, and Lowe's soon-to-be, why are our property taxes sooooo high?

We walked past one of the Lehighton schools, one summer day, the windows were open, and the air conditioner was running.

This is a waste of money.

Nobody seems to care about the taxpayers' wallet.
