Harry Potter party
The Panther Valley Public Library will host a birthday party for one of Hogwarts' most famous students, Harry J. Potter, on July 30, starting at 10:30 a.m.
Feel free to dress in Wizard or Muggle (non-wizard) clothing depending on your preference. At the celebration quests will be sorted, have activities to win points for their house, have snacks and will be given the opportunity to win prizes. The festivities will end at 12:30 p.m.

Lansford
St. John's
On Wednesdays at 7 p.m. St. John's Lutheran Church, 1 E. Abbott St., Lansford, hosts an informal worship: a spiritual, peaceful evening service with Holy Communion. All are welcome to this relaxed, brief musical evening prayer.
For those who wish to come early, a free simple supper is served at 6 p.m., followed by a brief adult Bible study and children's program at 6:30.

Coaldale
VFW Post 6982 Ladies Auxiliary
The Coaldale VFW Post 6982 Ladies Auxiliary will be hosting its monthly meeting on Aug. 2 at 7:30 p.m. in the basement of the post home. Discussions regarding the next benefit are on the agenda.
In addition, the auxiliary will be presenting a $350 donation to Tamaqua Salvation Army benefiting the Lehigh Street fire victims. The presentation will take place at the Salvation Army in Tamaqua on Aug. 3 at 10:30 a.m.
