Covered bridge damaged by truck
The covered bridge on Covered Bridge Road in Lower Towamensing Township was damaged during a hit and run accident on June 3 at 11 a.m.
State police at the Lehighton barracks said the bridge sustained extensive damages to the interior beams and the exterior.
Trooper AnnMarie Cebula said, "The vehicle is believed to be a truck tractor with flat bed hauling a tracor or back hoe."
She added that the top of the tractor or back hoe likely has extensive damage.
