Large amount of jewelry stolen

State police at Lehighton reported a large amount of valuable jewelry was taken in a Monroe County burglary.

Troopers said the residence of Mary Kositz, 51, of 5612 Mount Eaton Rd., Saylorsburg, Ross Township, was entered sometime overnight of May 26-27. Entry was gained through an open window.

The jewelry was in a jewelry box.

Jewelry was also reported taken in another Monroe burglary. The residence of Katrina A. Fritz, 34, of 307 Upper Green Hill Rd., Kunkletown, Polk Township, was entered sometime between 8:45 a.m. and 6:20 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1. Entry was gained through an open window.

The jewelry was in a box and contained various rings, earrings and bracelets, troopers said.

Troopers are also investigating a incident that occurred at the residence of Richard Coulson, 66, of 1550 Fireline Rd., in Palmerton, Lower Towamensing Township. Troopers said someone fired a single shot at the home. The incident occurred sometime between May 22-31.
