Vehicles collide on state route 895

A two vehicle crash occurred on SR895 at Summit Lane, West Brunswick Twp., Schuylkill County, at 10:50 a.m. on June 1.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said the crash occurred when Cynthia D. Svenson's, 45, of Auburn, driving a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee, struck a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am driven by Leianne Cunningham Phillips', 50 of Hamburg, as she was attempting to make a right hand turn onto Summit Lane from 895.

Svenson had allegedly taken her eyes off the road to look at a house and failed to observe Phillips' turn signal.

After the initial impact, Phillips' vehicle spun in a clockwise direction and came to final rest facing northeast on Summit Lane. Svenson's vehicle came to final rest on 895 at Summit Lane.

Phillips, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Schuylkill Medical Center- S. Jackson St., Pottsville, for treatment of a minor injury.

Svenson, who was also wearing a seat belt, was not injured.

Charges will be filed against Svenson.
