Franklin Twp. crash probed

State police at Lehighton reported investigating a two vehicle crash about 11:28 a.m. on Thursday, June 9, along SR209 at the turnpike entrance in Franklin Township, Carbon County.

Troopers said Celena J. Griffith, 26, of Jim Thorpe, was attempting to make a left turn onto 209 from the exit ramp when her 1998 Volvo sedan was struck in the left rear by a 1993 Ford truck driven southbound by Michale J. Ritter, 40, of McClure, Snyder County.

Troopers indicated Griffith was injured but was treated at the scene. Ritter was not injured. Troopers cited Griffith for a stop sign violation.
