Two inmates at state prison cited

Two inmates at the State Correctional Insitution (SCI) at Mahanoy Township, Schuylkill County, in separate incidents, according to state police at Frackville.

Troopers said Jeffrey Leon Alexander, 42, was cited for indecent exposure for allegedly exposing himself to a female counselor at the prison. The incident occurred about 2 p.m. on May 25, troopers said.

Andre Lamont Mason, 25, was cited for weapons or implements of escape and disorderly conduct. Troopers said corrections officers acted on information wherein Mason was to have been in possession of a weapon. Druing a search of his person and his cell Mason tried to conceal the weapon within the waist band of his pants. Mason was refusing a patdown and attempted to throw the weapon out of his cell to avoid detection.

The weapon was found to be constructed out of a tooth brush, with one end of the brush was honed to a point, troopers said.

The incident occurred on May 26 about 4 p.m.
